I'll overwhelm 'credible boxer' Jake Paul - Anthony Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

Anthony Joshua is set to fight Jake Paul in an eight-round fight which will be shown live on Netflix.

Briton Joshua declared he will "overwhelm entirely" the American and "break" the American as the two fighters confronted each other to build hype for the upcoming heavyweight fight.

Ex twice unified heavyweight champion Joshua faces social media star turned fighter Paul - in what is, by the numbers, a massive uneven pairing - at Miami's Kaseya Center on 19 December.

Fighter's Mentality

"I plan to damage his features and damage his physique. My goal is to show my superiority," the British boxer, 35 years old, stated.

"I'll stamp all over him. That's the boxer's mindset.

"I intend to really want to cause him pain. That's what I want to do."

Civil Exchange

In spite of these statements, a calm Joshua and internet personality Paul - usually famous for his dramatics - exchanged pleasantries and kept it respectful with each other.

Jake Paul rather targeted ex Joshua's opponent the Cameroonian fighter and called him "a joke" after Ngannou turned down a match opportunity.

Taking Aim at Tyson Fury

Anthony Joshua, in the meantime, criticized British rival Tyson Fury - and rejected a million-pound wager 'The Gypsy King' claims he will make on a Paul victory.

"Jake Paul is superior to Tyson Fury - he showed up," Joshua said.

"I acknowledge that."

Serious Opponent

Despite declaring he will damage his opponent, Anthony Joshua chose not to comment unfavorably about his opponent's boxing ability.

"Jake Paul is a credible opponent," he stated.

Paul's Background

Jake Paul - who originally gained popularity on the Disney Channel - has primarily fought MMA fighters or declining opponents since turning professional.

He lost to British fighter Tommy Fury in 2023.

Financial Attraction

Still, the novice continues to be one of the sport's greatest money-making draws, frequently receiving massive financial rewards.

Prediction and Belief

The 28-year-old anticipated a knockout win in rounds four or five and claimed he would prevent the long-awaited Fury-Joshua bout, which is apparently being planned for two years from now.

"The next fight will be my match with Fury in the coming year," Paul said.

Physical Disparity

As Joshua and Paul engaged in the usual stare-down, with their physical disparity evident, it drove home just how surprising this complete situation is - and how remarkable it is that the bout is really going ahead.
